Never Too Old For Technology: Local Ranking A Champion Gym

How a passionate fighter, with little to no technology experience was able to open his gym and stand strong in his city - not having to fight for new customers, but his customers fighting to visit him!

"I Would Love To, But I Don't Know How"

Every business owner has heard endless advice on how to be successful: Posting on social media, making an amazing website, go viral! All of these things sound great, but what if even using a smartphone is a challenge? Then what?

This passionate fighter's dream to open not only a gym, but a place of training and knowledge, offering the expertise of champion level coaches was struggling to get traction. We bumped into each other, and paired his dream with my online foundations techniques to create a knockout success.

The Problem:

Small business has stiff competition - often there's established brands that may not have the best offer, but they're so well known they don't have to improve to stay on top. Opening a gym with legendary trainers, years of fighting experience, and enough passion to put a hole in a heavy bag - simply wasn't cutting it.

Without solid local rankings, this small gym was just not gathering the attention it deserved, and the owner didn't have the experience needed to find results to keep the doors open long enough to become the established brand he dreamed it would be.

Doing What You Know + Avoiding The Rest

When a business is struggling, all too often I see them doubling down on what they do know how to do - their product or service. This is great for the early customers who get the best experience, but the amount of new customers is too small to keep the business afloat.

This makes such an uncomfortable situation because you desperately want to improve, but taking the time to study, learn, experiment, fail, and eventually grow feels like it won't move the needle in time.

Teamwork Makes The Dream Work

Fortunately I ran into this business owner and quickly helped him get up to speed on what things were really worth his time and effort when it comes to his online profiles. The funny thing is - he had actually found amazing accidental success on Facebook...but with the wrong audience. Having thousands of likes on his posts that equaled no new customers at all!

If you're attracting the wrong people, how would you know? Likes, shares, comments they could lead to new business but often they don't, especially for local businesses because they can only serve local customers, all that online attention, simply goes to waste.

Attracting The Right Crowd

Creating local profiles that rank will always attract the right audience because it shows up to people actually interested in what you have to offer. By optimizing your profiles, and multiplying the visibility you have for local customers you will start drawing in new customers in no time!

We got his profiles all setup, and with a little faith in the process, all his time spent worrying about what he needed to do in the gym to finally attract new customers, all went away.

In less than 1 month he began getting new sign ups, visitors to his website converting into long term training, curious locals discovering his gym. This lead people to really experience the passion, quality, and expertise he opened his gym with and created that tipping point where he no longer had to fight to bring new visitors in.

Sometimes winning the fight on one platform, won't win the fight for your business. Spending the time and learning the techniques to rank locally makes all the difference and now that this gym has that sweet science figured out - I have confidence I'll be seeing this brand grow to international levels in no time!
